Go-karting remains a niche hobby in small towns, often constrained by limited venue conditions and operational funding. As the facility aged, we sought to revitalize its visual identity and draw more visitors to this exhilarating activity. Inspired by the speed and motion of go-karts, we crafted a bold typographic and spatial design, transforming the space into a dynamic and engaging destination.
Situating in Manhattan, where was featured by rigid grid planning, the project aims to provide a loose playground for the citizen under the conceptual framework of ‘plan on plan’ and ‘grid in grid’. It challenges the potentials of instability in a static architectural gesture.
